Gay Island Guide was created in May of 2016 by Hawaii native, Walter Enriquez who is familiar with the State of Hawaii, its LGBT Community, Organizations, Bars & Nightclubs and Events with the hopes to create a one-site center of information for both local community members and our traveling LGBT guests who visit Hawaii.
He took notice that many other LGBT sites related to Hawaii are either outdated or not maintained or are by businesses from out of the State of Hawaii.
Additionally, now with print media being less popular and a lack of a printed Hawaii gay magazine it is becoming more difficult to find Hawaii's LGBT or Gay Friendly Businesses and thus has created this site Gay Island Guide to bring the Hawaii LGBT community the best gay magazine online and to create A Gay Hawaii Local & Visitor Guide to help connect these businesses such as Waikiki Hotels with Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgender consumers and their straight friends and family members.

Walter Enriquez, Jr., Is A Native of Hawaii Who Was Born, Raised and Currently Resides in Hawaii.
After Graduating High School, Walter Moved to Chicago To Pursue Being A Flight Attendant for United Airlines Where He Began His Adult Life Traveling The World Until He Later Remained in Las Vegas and Started School While Being Employed at the
Walter Enriquez, Jr., Is A Native of Hawaii Who Was Born, Raised and Currently Resides in Hawaii.
After Graduating High School, Walter Moved to Chicago To Pursue Being A Flight Attendant for United Airlines Where He Began His Adult Life Traveling The World Until He Later Remained in Las Vegas and Started School While Being Employed at the Flaming Hilton - Las Vegas.
Eventually, Walter Would Move Home to Hawaii And Continue His Career In Executive Management, Marketing and Promotions.
Some of the Many Positions He Has Held In Hawaii Includes Being the VIP and Events Manager at Paradise Cove Luau Where He Hosted Many Celebrities Including Mario Lopez, Gladys Knight, Luther Vandorss, Christina Aguilera and 98 Degrees. As He Continued He Would Become the Assistant General Manager at the Neal Blaisdell Center and Waikiki Shell Working With Top International Performing Acts Such As The Eagles, George Carlin and Many Others.
Walter is Also Well Known For His Time As Vice President of Marketing for Big City Diner Where He Created Many Amazing Events and Promotions That Still Exist Until Today.
In Recent, Walter Had The Opportunity To Serve President Barack Obama.
Because of His Vast Experience, Walter Has Worked With All of The Major Television and Radio Stations in Hawaii and Has Made Numerous Appearances.
Walter Enriquez, Jr., Is A Professional Business Management and Marketing, Promotions and Public Relations Consultant. He Is Also A Notable Facilitator and Key Note Speaker.
He Is An Active Member of the Community Serving on Numerous Charitable Boards and Also Actively Volunteers For Various Events For the LGBTQ Community.
